North Shore Auction (background information)
Gary and Lesley have been operating their business of Wolfsburg Automotive since 1979.
After working in a VW wrecking business, then as a tool make, then panel beater, completed an apprenticeship at VW dealer Worrells Motors in Toorak before stating his own VW business, where he predicted the future for VW business would be restoration. A panel shop was opened in about the 4th year of their business and expanded to a workforce of 23.
Since then, many VW vehicles have been restored and put back on the road. They bought property in Geelong 25 years ago and began transitioning the move to Geelong.
Customers cars have been the priority. The vehicles here for auction today represent the vehicles which have been left till last due to time constraints.
Gary and Lesley are retiring from this business and moving overseas. They are unable to take their collection with them so all cars and almost all equipment and parts must go.
Equipment in this auction has been mostly used daily if not regularly. All dead stock has been thrown out. Only what the owners consider to be salable has been kept for the auction.
Kombi’s for sale in this auction will all be in running condition for pick up.
This may result in a week or 2 delay after pickup day for 2 or 3 of them. The snail kombi camper cladding is now almost complete. It will have external cladding completed and windows fitted by pickup day. It comes with the roof rack over the cab as in the recent picture. Motor is in and running. All will have wheels painted and hubcaps. All need engine bay seals which will arrive tomorrow and will be fitted to all.
If you want the cars completed to RWC condition ready to register, a very capable member of Wolfsburg Automotive staff Rob, who completed his apprenticeship at Wolfsburg Automotive and trained in how these cars should be properly maintained is soon to start his own workshop, may be contacted to undertake this work for you in the next 12 months.
